The fact that it was a spaghetti western doomed Wallach for any real recognition but I always thought Tuco was an Academy Award winning performance. I'll always remember the music playing while they beat him.

Think of the other roles he did. In the middle 60's, he did a film called The Tiger Makes out. It was a comedy about a slightly off center postal carrier who kidnaps a woman. It has an early appearance of Dustin Hoffman. A versatile actor who could handle any genre of film given him.
